Release Notes

3.0.4 is bug fixes.

3.0.3 skips encrypted stored procedures and doesn't script databases by default.

3.0.1 adds support for scripting out users and roles in a database.

The 3.0.0 release includes:
  • The /nodb option has been retired. Databases aren't scripted by default. Use the /databases flag to script databases.
  • All server level objects (linked servers, jobs, logins, etc.) are now scripted as one file per OBJECT TYPE. All database objects are now scripted as one file per object.
  • Existing files are no longer deleted -- they are overwritten. I know this creates issues with objects that are removed. If you want the old functionality back I'd suggest you manually delete in your batch file prior to running this utility.
  • Objects now include permissions by default.
  • Objects now include IF NOT EXISTS in the script.
  • Server audits and server audit specifications are now scripted for SQL Server 2008 and higher.
